Alone Season 9 Gear List is Slim
The participant gear list for the History Channel Alone Season 9 is out and viewers are wondering if survival will be possible. The reality show kicked off with daring survivalists and experts being dropped into a remote area of Canada. The beginning of the quest to win this amazing wilderness experience and come home with a wad of cash.
Obviously, the contestants film themselves with several cameras, lights, batteries, etc., along with a satellite phone and GPS tracking device in case of a real-life emergency survival situation. Yet there is more equipment to carry with the gear list…A whole bunch more!
Is it Enough to Survive?
As fans become more involved in the show, they start to see the different contestants unpack their packs and reveal what they brought to survive. The basic gear list of the Alone show is quite thin, when it comes to the length of time the individuals will be staying out in the forest. Yet, somehow they will make it work…of so the fans hope!
The Basics. No exceptions.
Scrolling through the list, there are some pretty basic needs for surviving in the wilderness hundreds of miles away. The feet will be fully covered as the contestants will have two pair of boots and six pairs of wool socks.
Also keeping the head warm, the packs include two hats and 2 buffs (or neck gaiter). With the brisk Canadian wind, this seems to be a good thing to have. Additionally, the wool shirts, waterproof jackets and insulated pants are necessary to keep the cold away.
Not too Personal Equipment
What you realize immediately on the Alone season 9 gear list is there are no creature comforts. Only allowed to bring one person photograph and a toothbrush, the luxury of toothpaste isn’t even offered. Of course their idea of making it to the end of the show is very important, but honestly, it seems a little thin when reflecting on things that could make the trek more comfortable.
Here is the Alone Season 9 Gear List:
- 1 pair of high-leg hunting boots
- 1 pair waterproof Arctic winter boots
- 1 T-shirt
- 1 fleece/wool shirt
- 2 wool, fleece or cotton sweaters
- 6 pairs wool socks
- 2 hats
- 2 buffs or neck gaiter
- 1 shemagh OR scarf
- 4 pairs of gloves
- 2 pairs of underwear/briefs
- 1 insulated parka-style jacket
- 2 pair of outdoor pants/bibs
- 1 pair of fully insulated or waterproof winter pants/bibs
- 1 waterproof un-insulated shell/Jacket
- 2 pairs of thermal underwear
- 1 pair of gaiters
- 1 leather belt

Overall, the contestants will be warm starting out on the competition. The question remains whether they can keep their equipment dry, be able to use their items or wash them and how each can last during the experience.

While we all know 6 pairs of wool socks will last a while, when using them daily, it becomes a question on how long can they be worn before the fresh, new feeling wears away. Same goes for the boots and gloves. The wear and tear of traveling the wilderness isn’t going to offer any leniency on the equipment brought along on the trek.
In Conclusion

We have talk about the prohibited items and the chosen items and how it impacts the game on Alone Season 9 as it unfolds during game play.
